Thursday Schedule and Pods
1) To be ready to practice your full POL by the end of 5th period (see "Homework" section for list of what is needed to be ready)
Period 2:
Starter (10 min)
1. Look over the list of interview questions.
2. Which 3 questions do you think would be most difficult for you to answer? List them, then explain why it would be difficult for ONE of them.
3. Which 3 questions do you think would be easiest for you to answer? List them, then explain why it would be easy for ONE of them.
4. Which questions do you think you are MOST LIKELY to be asked? List 3, and explain why you believe you might be asked these questions.
Bullet Points (15-20 min)
a. Go through the entire list of questions in your packet.
b. For each question, write down two bullet points
i. A few words about what you want to say
ii. The piece of work or anecdote you want to use as evidence for this question.
Interview Demonstration (5-10 min)
c. Ask for a volunteer
d. They come to the front of the room
e. Students ask them 3 questions off the list
f. At end, teacher offers critiques of each answer to demonstrate what we are looking for
Interview Practice (30 min)
g. Set up in groups of 3-4
h. One person stands at front of group (standing is required!)
i. Group asks them 4 interview questions
j. When they are done, group gives them feedback
i. What are two things they need to improve?
ii. What are two things they did well in their answers?
Period 3:
1. Reminder: Sign off sheet is due, COMPLETE by the end of the day tomorrow!
2. Preparation Outlines
a. You MUST get these signed off today if you haven't already!
b. Finish these first, submit via google classroom to Lori, OR show your core teacher and get their feedback/signature.
3. Gather and Organize Evidence
a. Hard copy or slideshow

c. NO BULLET POINTS OF TEXT ON SLIDES
4. Notecards
a. Create your presentation notecards
b. Think carefully about organization and transitions
c. Number your notecards

Period 4: Practice POL- in Commons
Period 5:
Freewrite/Starter: (10-15 min)
1. What are your big takeaways from the practice presentation you saw this morning?
2. What revisions do you need to make to your POL in order to be ready, and to pass on the first try?
3. What questions do you have for us after watching this?
Now work on those revisions!
Homework:
Come in on Friday ready to practice your full POL. You will need:
1. Completed notecards for the intro, 2 cultural pieces (values/beliefs and behavior/habits), and conclusion
2. Evidence for your cultural pieces (either in hard copies or (BETTER) in a slide show!
3. Any evidence or notes you need for the interview questions
